the irony is that the critics hate Orville and love STD. STD is simply dark, actiony schlock masquerading as Trek...whereas Orville is the zeitgeist & heir apparent to TNG. So while the critics are fawning over themselves to see who can gobble the most SJW cock that is STD, the real trek fans are watching Orville. And I think the hatred for Orville by critics is because either they:

A: hate anything Seth McFarlane does

or

B: were expecting a non-stop slapstick humor fest send-up of sci-fi akin to Galaxy Quest on steroids

Instead, we got a show that knows how to intersperse humor, character development, tension, drama, social commentary, and still stay upbeat. It's a damn shame that Orville is such a hidden gem in a world of crap shows.

IMO Discovery is good Scifi. Its just not good star trek.

Orville is good star trek.

We've had the discussion in my local comic store several times and everyone likes Orville better.

It's amazing to me how blind critics are, and how the media & content owners are inequitable in coverage. Guess that explains why i dislike so many shows/movies anymore.
