Thread: Possible wiring problem?

    Thumbs down Possible wiring problem?

I am having a problem with my head lights. My running lights are coming on and my dash and turn signals are working right, but my head lights are not coming on. I was having problems before and was told it could be my alarm causing them. I started to remove the alarm and noticed its tied into a bunch of the other wiring.. Anyone have experience with our cars wiring and removing alarms?

Aftermarket alarms are rarely tied into the headlights as repeat flashing of any bulb shortens its life. It is more common to have the alarm tied into the parking light circuit. That being said, I have seen a bad etacs module prevent proper headlight operation.

However I would start from the fuse boxes and verify that they are all good. It is easy for the bigger fuses under the hood to look fine but actually be blown.

I have replaced the ECU and ETACs recently. The ETACs after the problem began.

If you have replaced the etacs and verified that all the fuses are good, the next step is to break out your multimeter and do some testing. So the next big question is do you have a service manual with the required headlight circuit diagram?
