..or whatever you guys call yourselves. Hope you guys are doing okay with what looks like(is being reported as) pretty incredible flooding going on out there. Stay safe and I hope you guys aren't having any real issues.

Despite the fact that we've had damn near 2' of rain over the past few days it's all good. I live on a hill. Cars are dry and family is OK. We lost water service to our home for a lil bit, we just showered at our health club and ate out.

Here's a few snip-its from my Facebook page. When I drove thru the intersection the guy on the right had to open his doors to drain the water. It was over my tires.


Here's the park down the street from my house. The fence is 5' tall. Notice it disappears near center field? There was about 7' of water there. That's the flood water accumulation area four our subdivision.


Roads and bridges are damaged everywhere. Traffic sucks due to road closures and forced detours. We're better off where I live in the city because our 100yr flood plan was developed well. Those in rural areas and in Boulder are not so fortunate.

The majority of Boulderites believe in conservation and not disturbing natural environments. When you want to build up a flood levy and do anything that might disturb the environment in their little city... tree huggers protest and bitch about saving squirrels and killing trees. I think they learned a lesson about why that shit's important and why they should have shut their mouths when Civil Engineers from the State wanted to design a water diversion flood plan 10 years ago and they protested against it.

I really feel for the folks in rural areas without insurance and without the funding to support flood plan design and development. We're lucky where I live. We had lot's of water. 12" of rainfall in less than 12 hours and it shed as intended. There's widespread damage to road surfaces and bridges from the sheer magnitude of the storms water weight. Secondary damage stemmed from undermining washout under the bridges from high water pressure caused from bottlenecking. Aside from that, no homes are under water in my town and we got more water than Boulder. 18" total in A-town. It's all further downstream now in a big River surge where all the rivers in Colorado merge at lover elevation (about 3000ft) The river there is 19' higher than standard bank height capacity and flowing 100 times more than normal. The river is called the Platte River. I believe it feeds into the Missouri River near Kansas City?

Our yard has been getting hammered with import/trains for the last two days and will be into the next week because of all the delays from the Rain. Wish you guys the best, and thanks for the OT lol.

Yep, I'm on a hill as well. Everything below me is flooded like crazy. The park that is normally a nice big grassy field is now under 6 feet of water. My kids have been out of school since Thursday and have till Wednesday off too. We don't close school for 4 feet of snow, but a couple of feet of water shuts everything down. I'm down the road from Boulder and it's pretty bad up there. Lots of flood lands and people that are displaced.

My aunt and uncle are on a hill as well but it has turned to mudslides and caused more bad than good. They escaped before it all went to hell and went to a friends house. Last I heard the house was still standing but they aren't sure for how long.

The buddy who was visiting left here Thursday to drive back to Centennial; he's home, most of what's happening is west/northwest of him, but he says he's never seen that much water, ever.
