To cam or not to cam?

I am going through my engine this winter and have decided to put a little thought in on the cam setup. Some relevant engine mods are:

    - 3.75L
    - DR stage 3 heads with 272's
    - MHI TD05 20G's
    - all the supporting mods

I'm not looking for a conversation about why I have the turbos I have or anything, I just want some opinions (and hopefully facts) about if I should keep what I have, run stock cams, or get something else. I know BC made some new cams for our cars... Are they worth it? I am revving out to 8000 rpms, and plan to keep doing that, so I am thinking stock cams might not be too great.

    Thought/opinions, go!

Pump gears for the higher rpm maybe?

Go to the track with race gas or go to a dyno already. Get a baseline THEN change things. My OPINION.

Nothing is wrong with the current cams, just seeing what's out there and thinking out loud

I can't find the cam card, they are what nomiez has... The 150e grind

Bill, the pump gear is included in "all the supporting mods"

Gnat, I know what you're saying and I don't disagree, but I have issues with the setup that need fixed and that won't happen before I can get to the track

Oh, and I talked with ray about it a little, and he thinks what I have are good. I am still curious as to everyone's thoughts though

The 150e should be a webgrind camshaft. That's where DR gets his made. You can look up the cam card for a 150e if I'm not mistaken on their website. I would keep the 272s you have unless you feel like reving past 8k to 9k rpms with some 280 cams. Right now I'm sure the 272s are working well for where you're reving to and where the 20Gs make power.

I tried to look up the cam card, but my google skill is failing me I guess.

I really was hoping to hear some more opinions on cams and I was REALLY hoping to hear something about those new BC cams that everyone was up in arms about

They took down the timing card recently. Try this link and if it doesn't work I can get a screenshot of the cached page to post up. Web Cam Inc. - Performance and Racing Camshafts / Mitsubishi 3000 GT VR 4 G 72 DOHC 24v Timing Card
