improveing aerodynamics underside panels

hey I'm wondering, how much would our aerodynamics improve by putting underside panels under our cars much like what the Nissan gtr and some other high end sports cars have?

I think you're referring to "belly pans". I'm sure that they have a less dorky name for them, but basically full underbody panels for reduced drag and turbulence, with potentially better downforce. Erron would probably have more information on it.

The theory behind it is to make it so that air traveling under the car can't get caught up on something. Improves stability at high speeds, but I imagine that you wouldn't see much of an improvement for daily driving. I have toyed the idea of having a multipiece underbody panel to smooth out airflow and still easily removable for doing maintenance. Still, doubtful it makes a big difference for a car driven on the straight. Generally it's like drilled rotors and is there because people expect that sort of stuff when buying cars of that caliber, even if they'll never use it as such.

They're very functional on German cars... They have big sponges bonded to them so they can pretend they don't leak oil....

Yep, they certainly do help. In more than just a few ways. For me, it's a cooling improvement.

BTW I still haven't got around to building my diffuser and splitter, just haven’t had time in money. I’ll probably have to ask you some questions again if I ever get a chance to do it. lol

I think I remember Slage having some underbody panels. I think his car was stolen and joyrided and they fucked up the panels.
