Drain the oil first bro. Do you see flakes or is it just a "sounds like knock" situation? What did you change in the tune? What was your high boost problem?

I believe he was hitting fuel cut with it set to only 19psi.

Sin, did you ever log a pull so we could see what was going on?

Drained the oil and no metal in the drain pan. Took the oil to work and had 4 of my techs and service mgr look also and nothing. so, gotta look at other shit now..

yes, i did take some logs, but havent DL'd them to see. And yes, my boost issue was my fuel cut load was set to 19.88psi. changed that to 35 and hit 25.7 today .

I've seen lots of spun bearing cars with no flakes in the drain pan. But then you pull the oil pan, and it's full of bearing material.

No flakes = didn't spin a bearing. I'm guessing you have a dead bank of cylinders or a dead turbocharger and what you're hearing is auto detonation from compressed fuel and no air or spark. When I seized my rear turbo many years ago thats what it sounded like... hammers. Replaced it and the sound went away. You spin bearings from oil starvation bro or assembly error those two problems show themselves really quick.

Not true. I had ZERO flakes in my oil or filter, but had a rod bearing completely spun. Pickup was catching it all and clogged. I shut it down quick so that probably helped. Oil had a bit of a sheen though.
