Yes! I don't know what Mitsubishi puts in their wiring, but rats and mice find it irresistible.... Currently tearing down my dash, to remove an old nest I discovered. Hopefully, the harness isn't completely hosed...

Don't think it's Mitsu in particular - seen it many times over the years - but they do seem to use wire whose insulation rodents are especially fond of, yes, indeed.

Mold spores attached to the organic dust in the car... Sawdust maybe? Mold won't grow on vinyl, theres nothing to eat. Watch out for the microtoxins when you're cleaning up. Some mold emmisions can make humans really sick. In some states I've worked in we handle some mold spores like asbestos spills. We have to retain an industrial hygenist to take samples and get air clearances for spore count per cubic foot.

If you can't do that, you will continue to have the issue. Part of what I do for a living is direct mold mitigation crews.

Also know that most mold/mildew killing products have bleach in them. Careful with your leather...

The last thing you want to do with mold is use air... you spread the spores. Were talking spores so light and small if you dropped one from 6 feet off the floor it would take 8 hrs to hit the ground. Spores stay in suspension for a long time and require negative air and containment. When you hit them with a fan they emit toxins and spread and cling to new food source. I've seen it in residentual environments for many years. The worst thing you can do is turn on a fan or your furnace. You draw spores in and spread them like chalk dust. They stick to your walls and drapes and anything organic, especially osb and bark.

No it's the other way around. Things like that will be vented out if you have an opening. Mold thrives in closed in, moist/humid places.

Same thing with greenhouses. Needs ventilation to vent out air and get fresh air in to prevent fungus growth.

Greg, I can send you about 50+ silica capsules....My wife brings them to me from her work when the drug bottle is emptied.

Greg, if you put them in the microwave for around 30 sec +or - it will release the moisture that they have soaked up so far. Most desiccant will change color from like a blue to pink when it gets saturated so you can tell when they aren't absorbing any more moisture (if you can see it in the capsules). Anyway microwave them for a few before you toss them in and every 2 weeks or so.

silica packet can only absorb about one third of its own weight in water and are meant to use in much smaller spaces than a car interior. 50 packets can only collect about 16-17 grams of water.. the dome I linked can collect up to 24 oz and more you just have to empty it regularly if humidity is high and remember to refill every once in awhile, I have seven 1 littre units in my boat I usually have to empty them 2-3 times during the winter and refill once a year, they collect alot of water.
