To the extent this stuff is already in place (and I'm sure the capability is already there), I am convinced the big push is taking place at this time because, in the age of gloves-off partisan media, the internet is where conservative/libertarian ideology/sentiment primarily resides.

The powers-that-be quite naturally want to put a brake on this to silence any non-progressive voices.

Of course, the media plays a part - I've always wondered, since the onset of the red-state/blue-state reference, how it is that the right isn't blue, and the left isn't red, given their respective empathies.

all you have to do is look at who is assigning the colors and you'll have your answer as to why it is that way.

liberals like to bend people over, rail them and while doing it point to the neighbors house and tell you, "that guy is doing this to you not me."
