How do you remove 3000GT side skirts?

I recently bought a 1998 SL donor for my VR-4 and I have removed the bolts under the side skirt now how do I remove the parts fastening it below the door? Do they just pop off or is there a special tool or technique to it? --thanks!

I think most people just rip them off and replace the clips when they re-install, but it's been a while since I removed one.

Do not rip them off the car, the clips can only be "replaced/repaired" with epoxy or plastic welding. In addition to the bolts on the bottom of the car there are three 8mm nuts that have to be removed.

The first one is in the front section of the side skirt and bolts it to the fender, so you will need to get the fender liner out of the way to gain access to the nut. The other two are in the rear portion of the side skirt, and you have to remove the rear interior panel to gain access, just like if you were going to replace the rear speakers.

Once those three nuts have been removed along with the bolts on the bottom you can pull the side skirt off as it is only held on by clips at that point.

Just take your time with it and it will come off fairly easily.

since i'm changing mine from 92stealth to 94+ 3k, how do I g about fixing the pinch weld? it has folded over from previous owners using it for jacking the car. it has folded covering several of the lower bolts.

The simple answer is brute force, you need to bend it back in place. I had the best luck with a large crescent wrench but a large set of vice grips should also work. Then starting at a section of the weld that is still unbent or nearly unbent I started using the wrench to pry the weld back straight. The jaws on the wrench were set to be just wider than the pinch weld, that way they would slip over the weld but were still narrow enough to get the job done. I had to slowly work my way down the pinch weld until the whole thing was bent back to its normal position.
