Thread: My '92 RT/TT rescue.... Because it's too tragic to call it a "restoration".

    looks like a nice project

some new chairs, interior parts and panels, repaint and service to the engine.

do you need to pull the engine apart to restore it or does it run ok? edit: ecu not working saw that now

My hope is to have it running by next month. Here's the work that's been done so far......

In the side shot, you can see that I've transferred the OEM 17"s from "the donor" ('93 R/T-NA), instead of those ill-fitting 17" Walmart severely flaked chromies, that didn't clear the front calipers, without spacers in the front, and SAE (WTF?) extended wheel studs.

First things first.... NEW SUNROOF!!! It seems a tad crooked on the passenger side, because the hook fell off in shipping, and the seller is trying to obtain another for me.

Cleaned the swamp out of the floor..

Pulled out the seats, and carpet. The seats, will be gutted for plastics, switches, and working motors. The carpet after pressure washing, still had some small, but noticeable, stains. So, I will be dyeing it black. (I'll let you know how that turns out.)

Cut out the smashed radiator stay, and had the husband weld in the good one from the donor. It's black, but eventually, the whole engine bay will be.

I didn't do anything to her today. Spent the day wrenching on the SL. Wrapped, and installed the new stainless headers, and rebuilt driveshafts.

I've tried posting updates, but the forum admins have to review them before they'll show up....

Thank you, good sir. I wasn't sure if it still considered me a new user. Been here since '11, but didn't start posting until recently, when I wanted to start documenting the new 3S....
