Productive day today. Stripped more interior. Removed the moldy dash, to find that the resident rodent had made a large nest above the glove box, and ate about 18" of dash harness, and some random wires here and there. So Sunday will be spent removing the dash from the donor, swapping the turbo bits into the NA dash, and repairing that apparently delicious Mitsubishi wiring.

Discovered a bit more evidence of impact damage sadness.

Here's a shot of the shifter tunnel, before I pulled everything today.

I'll take more progress shots tomorrow.....

Wow, that propeller shaft tunnel/console area looks a little crusty! It's really sad to see someone neglect to keep the interior protected & the consequent damages. That car is going to need SO many parts replaced/rebuilt to make it nice again....it'll be so cool to see it completely fixed up!!

Keep the momentum going on this major resurrection project; it kinda reminds me of what I had to deal with on my old '69 Charger,,,SO many things were wrong with it interior & engine-wise (unfortunately ended up selling it).

just seems like light surface rust and alot of dirt to me.

btw. pretty sure that smic is leaking being bent like that. Upgrade to fmic. Dual core fmic imo. seems like the only thing taking impact was the smic though? body looks fine.

The dirt, rotten textiles, and mold, were the biggest obstacles with the interior. Fortunately, it's a lot of cleaning and swapping parts from the donor car.
I'll probably just get a good set of stock SMICs. I prefer that look with the stock bumper. I may upgrade later, but initially I'm restoring to stock.

Broke down the dash today. The damage to the dash was pretty extensive.....
The missing section of dash harness.

    Nibbles here and there.

    Who needs airbags? :P

Looks like he was gnawing on the crash bar.

But, four hours and two bottles of Purple Power later....
    ALL CLEAN!

I'm really starting to get excited about this one...

    +1

How can you not get a little bit excited, looking at all that red paint?

At first blush, a daunting task; but seeing what's under the crud spurs you on.

    Looking GOOD!
