Ahhh that sucks...sounds like a giant disappointment. It's a scheduled test n tune on their calender. So if there will be a shit ton of people (which I'm sure there will be now), I might just drive my car out and not worry about it haha

Can't believe I forgot to update this thread...

    Anyhey... Short and sweet..

1st trip the track resulted in a hurt clutch but decent times for my first time out with the new setup:

2nd trip to the track resulted in a killed clutch but still decent times:

Working on the clutch issue and then I'll be back with more boost, less tire pressure and hopefully coming out of the hole off the anti-lag with a lot of boost. I installed HKS coilovers last weekend which should help a LOT with the 60' and overall stability down the track.

Sexyyy. I love Supras. Cant wait until I can afford one along with the 3000gt.

You dont need a helmet at the track first time round?

Ive never seen a 4 lane track, thats awesome.

    She sounds wonderful too.

looks like about a 10.5 pass is possible on the current setup--if you run perfectly. nice going. now go hang out with the supra guys and stop making the 3/s owners feel bad.

    mk4 only?

    p.s.

jrod, ukyo has an auto mk4 tt he'd be willing to part with.

haven't seen anything on it in a while...but he's still got both it and the vr4--and he needs to sell one or the other.

terrets -- It was a small semi-private event and they weren't enforcing any safety stuff so I didn't put the helmet on. I hate wearing a damn helmet, anyway!

inperfectdarkness -- I think it has 10.2's in it as it sits. There is a LOT of room for improvement on those runs, especially in the first half of the track; honestly not my best driving effort. My primary concern was just getting the car reasonably out of the hole and down the track for the first time on a bias ply tire. Once I tackle the clutch issue I'll be back to put a serious dent in the ET with more aggressive driving. This fall I'll be implementing the second round of mods (cams, springs, retainers, 28" tire, etc..) and will be shooting for 9.999.

jrod -- There are some really killer deals out there right now. Now is definitely the time to buy while the market is in a temporary slump. The caveat to that is those that don't 'need' to sell aren't even listing the cars while the values are down, so finding a very specific example will be hit or miss. I have been soooo tempted to buy another Supra lately; I want another so much I can taste it. But... Buying another crib this fall is cramping my car budget at the moment. Maybe next year!

PS. ukyo has a poor grasp on the market if he thinks he's going to get 30+ for his wife's brokedick supra. IIRC, it has a good chunk of miles and even the mid-mileage 97-98 autos aren't selling for better than mid/upper 20's right now. When the market rebounds, maybe; but no way in hell right now.

PPS. I find the guys in that thread saying the Supra is so hard to work in hilarious. Mine has been an absolute dream -- easiest car to turns wrenches I've ever owned import and domestic. I've done all the work myself with the exception of the clutch (pain in my ass and no 'glory' in that, IMO) with simple hand tools in garage and it's been a very pleasant and rewarding experience. Everything just works.
