I may eventually get to a larger AR turbine housing, but I will be sticking with the 3" recirculated downpipe setup for sure.
Here's a good shot of the wastegate and downpipe setup:

I'm not well schooled in flow yet, but I would have thought the wastegate would have been smoothed into the downpipe better. There's enough room in the engine bay, I'd think. Either way, it's still badass, and probably easily flows enough for most power levels.

The wastegate dump back into the downpipe actually creates a nice venturi effect, and effectively corrects for the inefficient wastegate port placement/location. That's one of reasons boost creep becomes an issue when you go to a larger downpipe with an open wastegate dump -- you lose that venturi the system was designed to produce. The placement of the wastegate port relative to the flow is the real deficiency.
Ok, I can see that. Yeah, the 90* isn't good for flow... Do you have any idea of what the flow rates are through the wastegate at various boost levels versus the flow through the turbine?
Absolutely no idea.![]()
I only ask because on some setups it can reach 75% through the wastegate, lol. This doesn't look like one of those setups![]()
Its going to be a beast. I raced at 72mm Supra 6speed in fort Worth with my Whippled Shelby. I beat him but he did very good I bet he was on a street tune n 93 octane. I was running Torko and 18psi. We only went to 120 he might have caught me if we went faster. Supra can be beastly.

Here are few pics from today after cleaning up the engine bay a little -- still have a lot of polishing today. Everything is still mocked up at this point for fitment purposes (working on the water lines for the turbo). I have a shopping list of about a dozen misc. things I still need to order to get it finished up. I'm leaving on business Wednesday morning and won't be back until late Sunday, so I'm waiting a little later in the week to place the order. My plan is to have the car up and running weekend after next.
