No real specific ET or MPH goals other than I'd like to be firmly in the 10's. If the stars aligned, I could possibly click off a 10 with the stock fuel system (been done many times), but I don't know if I will track the car before fuel upgrades. Good weather is just around the corner, so who knows..! The T72 is a relatively old school design and I'm using a fairly small AR (.70) for spool. 9's won't be readily doable without cams and a few other things; it's just not realistic on this turbo unless everything is still to 'KILL'. Something in one of the new Billet flavors will really wake the car up, but I'll be content (in the mean time) with 600-700RWHP and good spool.

The 9.8 car was a 6sp on a VPC (old school, before AEM, etc..) with no antilag/launch control, etc... This was 2001ish:

I've lusted after the RPS sound for almost 10 years now:

The videos don't do the sound justice; it really must be experienced in person.

Great set of cars you got there, and the upgrades to the Supra are awesome and perfect.

The exhaust has almost nothing to do with the sound; it's the RPS manifold.

I'm sure it is, it's not a very common design. All the local Supra guys run either fully custom, or some JDM tyte stuff... Is it fully equal length? It looks like a really well designed manifold.

It's about as close to equal length as you can get, but it's not really a true "equal length". All of the design characteristics contribute the unique sound, and it's one of the very few recirculated wastegate setups out of the box -- a BIG plus for me. Back in the day, this was a 6-7k kit...! The one flaw in the design is the wastegate port setup -- it's almost 90* off the collector, which does not promote good flow. As a result, they tend to boost creep pretty badly above7k RPM if you go to a large AR exhaust housing and/or 4" downpipe. Great for making power, but not great if you want to tool around on pump gas and low boost. I'm sticking with the original 3" recirculated setup, so I won't have that issue. Sound Performance is currently in the process of reproducing this manifold with a modified wastegate port setup. They actually used my manifold to design their jig, and that killer coating job was complimentary for the downtime.

Good, you're not gonna be an open dump ricer. 6-7k was pretty significant, even for the Supra market. Are you sticking with the "stock" exhaust housing? Do you think you'll switch to the new design, or are you not going to push it enough to worry about the possible wastegate issues? From the sounds of it, you're going to push the limits of this setup.
