I'm in the process of installing an old school RPS (yes, the clutch people) single turbo kit with an ITS 72mm DBB turbo & recirculated ITS wastegate. This same setup went 9.8 @ 153MPH with a 70 shot 8-9 years ago. 'Lag' should be very tolerable -- not much worse than the stockers in true-twin mode.
Stock twin removal was not difficult -- almost pleasant, actually... LOL
After a cumulative 5hrs the engine bay looks like this:
The manifold and turbo are just mocked up for fitment testing at this point. Everything is coming back out so I can give the engine a thorough detail. I've got a few small parts on order and I still need to install the TRD poly engine mounts. Due to work and upcoming travel it will probably be the weekend after next before it's completed.
Mods upon completion will be:
RPS T72 turbo kit
GReddy 3-Row FMIC
HKS Carbon Ti catback
Spec Twin-Disk clutch
TRD poly engine and tranny mounts
Blitz DSBC boost controller
HKS VPC w/ SAFCII
G-Force ECU w/ fuel, timing and 8k rev mods
2x HKS SSQ BOV
Trac-delete
EGR-delete
R1 Slotted Rotors
Hawk HPS pads
The only limiting factor at this point will be the fuel system. I'll be stuck at ~ 525RWHP until I pick a direction for fuel.
I'll update this thread as things progress.
