Haven't listed a car, but I have bought two VR4s off eBay, without going through eBay. I'm sure it saved the seller a ton of money. So be prepared for side transactions.

Beware the scammers, and fraudsters. Don't end your auction early, unless you have cash in hand.

    Lots of pictures, minimal text.

I just sold my 95 Vr4 last week on ebay. Total cost was about $130 without a reserve. I agree with a lot of pictures, but I disagree about the minimal text. I feel a good description of the good and bad help sell any car. It shows you're being up front and not trying to hide anything. Plus you won't get ten different emails asking the same thing.

Ask for a deposit within 48hrs, make sure the listing states "Sold as is" and that you reserve the right to end the auction early due to local sale. Good luck with the sale!

colin has the right idea. if you have an extensive mx record/mod list...post it up. justify the cost.

Personally, I like a listing where the only question I have to ask is where I send the money and when I can come and get the car.
