missing bumper/snake eye bracket: p/n? help?

    (excessively large image resized)

I'm getting tired of the snake eyes occassionally popping out of position and I want to clean up the car cosmetically. When i ripped off the bumper a decade ago, i was wreckless and threw shit away. I would have already bought this from 3sx, but i'm just not sure which bracket(s) I'm missing.

    Thanks!

yea that would bother me too,i actually bought all new brackets a while back because some of mine were bent and the body lines weren't where they were supposed to be.
it looks like the bracket you need is the two piece one that goes under and over the bumper to hold it down to the frame and that snake eye bracket should just bolt to it

So I guess I'm missing all of them. Maybe the paint shop I used back in the day kept them or something. This bumper needs repainted anyway, so I guess now is the time to make sure I have all the pieces.

You could probably fabricate something with Home Depot parts for much less.

I actually thought about that, but with the brackets missing, the body panel gaps just aren't right.

It's hard to justify because I've always wanted a '97 or '99 bumper, but given all the parts I'd have to replace to do that, I think this car will always be a true 1G.

    You're still in TX, right?

There are 4 Pick N Pulls in the DFW area alone. Find an NA and take home all those brackets for under $25. Most of those brackets are probably shared with the base and ES Stealth as well.

Even if you sand blast and repaint them, you're still well under $150. Hell, they'll sell you the entire front bumper cover assembly with the brackets attached for $40.

There's now 5 self service yards within about 30 mins of my house. I've yet to find a TT there, but I've gotten plenty of useful parts from NAs. My best find so far has been a genuine 96 Stealth spoiler. My 2nd best was a pair of factory HID headlights for my Focus. I picked those out from under the noses of a couple of Mexicans who thought they were eBay junk. $300 value for $65.

I've gotten a few sets of factory 3S projector headlights for $65. A full 97 front end for my Spyder. Unbubbled door panels. Nearly new trim strips for the top of the door edge. I think I got those for $7 each. I found another 97 with a mint black dashboard, center console and intact airbags. I passed on that one, but I could have grabbed everything for ~$175.

There's all sorts of useful stuff. Unless you're trying to assemble some kind of mint show car, it's silly to buy this stuff from the dealer. Especially now that row52.com has come along. Their search results include a picture and the VIN. Run the VIN through ASA and you'll know if the car potentially has exactly what you're looking for.
