Looking to buy an AR or similiar gun

First off, I am not new to guns. This isn't my first and will not be my last. I am wanting to get an ar-15 or something along the lines of that. Not looking to break the bank by no means. Just wanting to get some input on different brands yall may own or have had a chance to use. the cheaper the better but I know you get what you pay for. not looking for the lorcin of rifles but also not looking for the benneli of rifles if you catch my drift.

First things first, what are you buying the AR for? That would determine whether you want a 14.5, 16, 18, or 20 barrel and gas profile. Overall, I think a midlength 16" is ideal.

I would recommend getting a Colt 6920 to start, its the original and a great starter.

If you feel adventurous, you can try to build your own like I did. It cost me ~$720 to build shopping the parts. With the magpul foreguard, vertical grip, mbus and aimpoint it was just over $1,000.
