I'm looking at purchasing some Road Race Comps and noticed Tire Rack has an additional upgrade box to have new tires heat cycled and stretched prior to shipment. Is this a worthwhile service? According to their racing tire break in procedures they recc bringing the tires up to warm up temp and then allowing them to cool for 24 hours before using. According to their tire tech information it's quite wasteful to not properly break them in. Any thoughts? Anyone let it rip without breakin in your tires like tire rack specifys? To an extent I'm slightly worried about breaking them in on a machine for roundness as I know my rims aren't exactly perfectly round and typically when you break in tires their profile changes to match the rim and they contour round.
