If you're getting J2534 error after that AND the FTD2XX previously, seems to me that something is preventing DLLs from getting installed. Generally that'd be that User Account Control crap, however running the installs as an administrator should override it. I have the UACs disabled on my computers so I don't have to deal with them. You could try doing it through your control panel settings, but of course you do that at your own risk. I'd suggest trying it on your XP laptop first.

I made an ecuflash folder in my documents, and figured I'd try and skip the part where windows makes another copy of the program somewhere else. I'll post up back here if I get anything figured out. There's only this and a few other things keeping her off the road now.
This may be part of the problem as well as i believe the my documents folder is almost as bad about UAC. I would uninstall ECUFlash and then install it into a folder directly on the C: drive, such as C:\ECUFiles.

Make sure you are using the right USB cable. Yesterday i was getting FTD2XX errors because i had a similar looking USB cable in my car that i was using. Once i used the USB cable that came with the tactrix adapter it worked fine.

Alrighty. A bit of an update: I'm still unable to connect to my ECU with ecuflash. I did try to install ecuflash into the C drive, in its own folder, which did not change anything.

I am using the mitsu reflash cable, Or I hope it is anyways....I haven't moved or changed anything from how I bought it, and I bought it as a package (PnP Ecu and cable) and assume everything is compatible with eachother.

I found a beta version of ecuflash forum scouring somewhere (1.42, I think) and tried that. Once the drivers were installed from that version, the .DLL error went away, but I was still unable to connect to the car. I'm out of town for another week now, so I wont be able to try anything until next Friday, but I would like to have some sort of an idea where to go for then.

I did also take some pictures, tomorrow after work I'll find somewhere to host them and I will get them up here, but I'm sure the wiring is correct. Again, Evoscan DOES work. Which is the frustrating part. I'm out of ideas. I think at this point I have to find an XP laptop, because something isn't jiving on the install. I think. I'm not a computer expert. Any other ideas?

Thanks for all the help everyone. I really appreciate the effort, and hope to help bring these cars back on the scene. There's nothing else on the road anywhere near as awesome as a 3/s.

The USB cable that came with your Tactrix cable is probably at fault. Had a guy come to me with this issue yesterday and after swapping it out, the cable worked fine.

Might I suggest trying a quality mini USB cable from radio shack or somewhere.

If that doesn't work, even when I get that DLL error, everything works fine.
