Should I install 1G or 2G cams in my cylinder heads?

Well I just sold a set of 1G TT cylinder heads and the buyer did not want the cams. So I have them laying around the garage. I am considering putting them into my 2G TT car. Is there any benefit to this or should I just keep the 2G cams installed? The heads are off of the car I want to install them in BTW. I heard that 1G cams may have a little more lift that 2G. Just wondering if there is any performance benefit or is it just BS.

I think they benefit on bigger power cars trying to eek the most they can out of a stock cam setup.

I was debating picking up a set of 1G cams as well, but if it is only going to be worth 5 hp it really isn't worth the hassle when I can just run another .5 lbs of boost.

    Good point Forest Gump.

Green Lantern, I am one of those nutty guys that wasn't completely happy with the FWD so I bought a TT Stealth about 5 years ago and have been steadily working on it. I thought I would be driving that car to the NG this year but the powder coated valve covers I installed had aluminum oxide hiding in the baffles which in turn scored my main and rod bearings and crank. I only found that damage because I was investigating low oil pressure caused by, of all things, lint on the pickup tube from using cheap Autozone red rags to clean up oil on the rotating parts and the oil pan sealing area. I have been selling parts on the "other" board to make some "engine repair" money.

This will probably be the last year for the supercharger. I rebuilt some 9bs and I have the other parts for a turbo conversion. It will still use the NA FWD transmission, though. More stuff I collected over the years.
