The Complete 3000GT Production Numbers by Color

I've seen a lot of posts through the years asking about how many of each color 3000GT were made. The Stealth figures have been readily available for a long time and there is a VR-4 list out there but I've never seen a complete 3000GT list and I think it would be great if it were all in one place, so here is a list I put together from a few other posts here and on different sites and some of my own VIN searches. These are based on CAPS figures and obviously not 100% accurate compared to what was actually sold but it is still a good place to get a general idea as to how rare your car really is.

I'm missing a lot of N/A figures, so if you've got one that's not on here yet please run the VIN through one of the online databases available (3kgt.com or ypass.net), post your numbers and I'll update the list. If I've got something wrong let me know and I'll fix it, I did not run all of these myself and I'm sure several of them are incorrect. Please note that the color names are as printed in the sales brochures each year and may differ from what comes up from the VIN search (or what you think your car color should be called.) For a couple of the years I've found colors in the searches that aren't listed in the brochure, like Panama green in '98, so I've added them but not sure if they should be there or not.

cool. so as i suspected, olive & purple are the rarest...by a significant margin. 1 belgian green in 1996...that's a keeper. not sure how many tt's in belgian/olive were made in 1996...but i'm sure they're equally rare.

that would be rather cool if someone had every single one of them from 1996 in his/her stable.

Here is one of the 96 Amethyst Purple VR-4's. 1 of 13 exactly identical

Found it in the junk yard last year. I wanted to save it but LKQ does not allow full cars to be purchased. It was stripped within a couple days....

Here is what Story teller had to say:

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is one of 315 that received VIN numbers. Based on the order of the serial numbers, your car was the 153rd out of the 315 that were made that year.

Your car was built in the 3rd week of July 1995. Of the 6096 vehicles made at the Nayoga plant, your car was the 2686th vehicle to be created that year.

There are 18 other cars that were made with both the same interior and exterior color. There are 19 cars with the same exterior color and 63 cars with the same interior color.

I know the Spyder numbers are way off seeing as only 1034 were ever sold, but even using Frank's site its hard to figure out the exact numbers broken down by colors. If you are up to the challenge post the results and I'll update the list!
