    I'm not sure you guys understand how split lock washers work, but whatever, lol....
    For the extra dollar why not just put a fresh one on?

    Nevermind...duplicate posting for some reason...
    My point is that a split lock washer becomes less effective after use and best practice
    is to replace (IMO)....we'll have to agree to disagree on this one, lol.

    I know its not really the same, but I work on submarines and we have certain parts that are mandatory for a reason. Lots of the mandatory parts are 10 cent o-rings and lockwashers and that type of thing.

    I have re-used my lockwasher before on my axles, I have also replaced them when I got a new CV kit (shaft, nut, washer). I have seen one of my washers flatten and had to go buy a new one.

    I would go buy one.

    Its common recommended practice to always replace all lock washers. I personally never do and never have a problem. To each there own here. Some people play by the rules 100% all the time. I know where corners can be cut and where they can not.
