Hey guys, I'm in the middle of an engine rebuild and looking for a little information. The cylinder heads I removed from my engine are trashed apparently. I tore them down tonight and found that all of the cam journals are scored. It's bad enough that even the cams themselves are scored. I'm guessing either from debris or they were starved of oil. Anyways, I have another spare set heads I can use thankfully. Their journals look nearly brand new, however one head is missing all of the caps. I'm thinking that the caps are installed while its being post machined so that the bores are perfect. Is this right? Is there any way to buy new or used caps and get away with those, or do I need to start looking for another head? If only I could cold spray material on and bore them out again. (My school has a cold spray machine....but I probably won't get access). I'm in need of a set of camshafts for sure though.
Has anyone ever used the BC stock replacement camshafts? They're only $287.50 from IPS!

Edit: Yeah, nvm. I was right about the caps being bored with the heads. Such a frustrating night. Sooo.....who has some TT heads...with cams.![]()
