Thread: WTF are these hydraulic lines on my GTO 6-Speed transmission?

WTF are these hydraulic lines on my GTO 6-Speed transmission?

So I know this stuff wasn't on my 6-Speed that came off my car and it's not like I can't just remove it and run the hydraulic lines the way it was, but does anyone know what this is for?

It appears there's 2 chambers in the hydraulic hub. A line goes into one chamber from the clutch master cylinder and the other line goes out to the slave cylinder. The second chamber has 2 lines that just go to 2 bleeder valves. I can't figure out what function this serves. Does anyone know?

What function does that serve though? It delays the release of the clutch?

It doesn't harm anything, but it adds weight, and it looks stupid (not that you can see it on these cars, lol)

Its probably a clutch damper like the NA FWD transmissions have. I got rid of mine years ago with no ill effects. It actually helped shifting and made bleeding easier.

Anyone want to clarify how the clutch dampening thing works? guess it might be good for the twin plate clutch's that need people to be careful about the engagement point?
