    Standalone ECU questions.

I hope that some of this stuff is very similar/exactly the same as an AEM. I have an old G1 Link Plus ECU and was curious if someone on here could help me figure out how to tune with it and make sure everything is hooked up correctly. I know someone here has ran this computer before. I have a few question so I guess I'll just list them out.

    1. My IAT sensor is only reading 220 and I'm fairly certain that's not right. Should I have the IAT wired into the IAT part of the MAF (I'm running speed density) or does it need to be wired in to the computer directly?

    2. When I started the car and managed to figure out how to record a log I noticed there was knock and knock count. What's the difference?

    3. I have a wideband O2 sensor. Specifically its a LM1. How do I wire that into the ECU? There's only 1 wire for O2 if I recall and the analog out has 3ish wires. Should I only use 1 of them?

    4. If anyone on here is fairly advanced when it comes to tuning or at least has a better idea about it than me, can I send some logs and the LINK PC program? I'd like to try to get a general idea of what is going on with the motor.

Hope that you guys here can help me get this all situated. I know I'm asking a lot.

(Yes this looks very similar to the post I made on the gtoperformance website.)

220 is not correct, so I'm guessing you would wire it directly to the ecu.

Knock and knock count may refer to the voltage from the sensor, and then the stock reported values.

There should be an input on the ECU for a wideband O2. Check your manual for the LM1 for a 5v output wire, and that would most likely wire directly to the ECU.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but I've never even heard of the ECU you're using.

Haha, yea the guys in New Zealand have heard of it but have never used it on a Stealth. I recently learned what to look for on the LM1 to get it wired in and that will be a nice addition for the computer. I've been looking into the IAT thing but can't seem to find my problem. I'll keep people posted.

The IAT wires for my AEM are wired at the MAF wiring.

Look at the AEM wiki install. It tells you what MAF wires to use. Although it is wired up there, it is not the factory "AIT" wire IIRC.

That makes a bit of sense. I'll check that FAQ out. I thought I had it figured out by looking at the diagrams, guess I was wrong.

EDIT: I think I have it wired into pins 5 and 6. I'll get back to ya'll about that. Thanks

That's not your quote but its from the install guide.

I have my sensor wired into the black wire and the red with blue striped wire IAW the TO. The problem I have though is that on my car, a 91 dodge stealth, Pin 5 is Black. Pin 6 is red/blue. Pin 7 is solid red. I have mine wired into pins 5 and 6. Should it be 5 and 6 or 6 and 7?

I have the wiring diagram of my car saved as a picture. I need to upload it to image bucket and try to EDIT it into this post.

Whatever is written in the guide is what I used with my '92 VR4, and my AEM install went flawlessly.

That guide is also copied from the 3si wiki, which is what I contributed to.

Edit: It sounds like you just tied into the wires. IIRC the wires need to be cut and fed by your new sensor only.
