Quick hard drive slaving question

Long story short, had two PC towers sitting around and decided to fire them up to remind me why they were sitting.

The one is in eternal log off/log on. Basically, it fires up to show the wall paper, and before it finishes booting, it logs off and repeats the process. Tried a few things that I know how to do, and had no luck.

The computer used to belong to my mom so she at least wants to try to save any old pictures and stuff that is on there. I pulled the HD and want to put it in another tower and slave it to get the important stuff off, but its not like I normally see. There isn't a jumper pin.

Hard drive is a Seagate 160 GB
Bararacuda 7200.7
Model ST3160828AS

From reading this link here http://www.seagate.com/staticfiles/s...100383102a.pdf it sounds like it auto detects. I just need to know if that sounds right. Also would like to see if anyone has any advice on how to fix the eternal log off/log on without having to slave, save, and reinstall.

When you swap it to the other computer you just have to make sure in the bios that you boot from the drive you did not swap in.

yea just make sure its not in the boot order in the bios setting and once booted it will ask if you want to format the drive before it can be used as a true slave drive but as long as the operating systems are compatible you should be able to performa some recovery functions , also iyt may be handy you ban buy a attachment to make a hard drive into a usb drive and get files from it that way , usb is less picky then using it as a slave and cqn even recover some files off dead drives this way
