If done right turning off DRM checking would be as simple as changing one line of code to turn a flag off.

Worse case you add a return true to the DRM check and the xbox phone home functuions.

If done right, Microsoft would've never implemented it

I have zero faith in Microsoft to have ever done a simple solution for it.
Mods: 2g 3k body conversion, 2g Brake upgrade, Rota P45R rims
Projects: Interior sound deadening, 14Bs, forged bottom end, custom radiator and sound mounts

if it really is THAT simple, i'm still amazed that MS is clinging to DRM like a ugly man trying to keep a supermodel girlfriend interested. because what that means is that any 2 bit hacker is going to figure out how to flip the same DRM-off switch just the same.

DRM doesn't work, and costs a LOT of money that is passed on to consumers in the form of media prices. so if what you say is true, people should hate MS even more--for ever being stupid enough to bring it up. now MS just looks like a retarded elementary school kid who has been caught lying, and is in panic mode trying to prevent everyone from figuring out just how shallow he really is.

Well of course Microsoft claims that the DRM will keep devs attracted to their platform since with no real used games sales and such stringent protections against piracy that sales would be better..Course The cost of games is expected to be brutal and I expect that folks would be less likely to buy. I know quite a few people who only buy games used because 60 bucks is a bit much to stomach. Hell, only new game I've bought in the last year was Mass Effect 3, which was a colossal disappointment. And proof of why I never buy new games.
