Goddamnit read. Halo was never supposed to come to a console. It was designed to be a mmofps for the PC. That's what Bungie was telling us dorks staring at our computers in 2000. As a competitive player of Tribes, myself and all the other jetpack jockeys had raging nerd boners for a game that could have changed online FPS for years to come - Halo. Instead it was bought by MS, the MMO part was scrapped, a quick single player story was cobbled together and it was thrown onto the xbox as a port of the work they already had. There is stuff in Halo 2 and Halo 3 that I was seeing in videos for the true, original Halo back in 2000. Halo 1 on xbox was a test bed for the xbox as well as a marketing campaign. By introducing a new FPS with a central figure, Master Chief, Halo became synonymous with xbox. What you see, hear and play as a Halo is not what it was supposed to be. It would have beat out the first true MMOFPS, Planetside, by six years.
Think about that.
And here is a video, the first one I actually saw years ago in my college dorm room, about Halo.
Sent from an internet spaceship.
