W5MG1 and W6MG1 transmission full rebuild kits MEMBER ONLY PRICING $750 shipped

Yes, that is correct... I am crazy and offering AWD TT transmission rebuild kits for $750 each to 3sgto members only. I purchased an entire build lot of 20 kits and will offer these up for $750 each shipped contigious USA and $800 each for international. These are Getrag USA, Germany, and Japan parts. You will not source this rebuild kit cheaper anywhere else as very few vendors on site can spring for bulk buys like this. Again, these are rebuild kits with all bearings (except input shaft bellhousing bearings), all seals, needle bearings, and synchro packs. The parts are all new, never installed and have a 1 year MFG warranty. Paypal is fasttmotorsports@live.com / cell is 720-2seven0-94fourteen. I will not separate individual parts from kits.

One kit left as of 6/6/2013

This is what you will be receiving... (1) End plug, All seals, Needle bearings, Shaft bearings w/matching races, End bearings, and synchros for gears 1,2,3,4,5,6(if applicable) and reverse.

It is my hope that this comprehensive rebuild kit will benefit the platform and aid those DIY'ers that cannot afford to spring for $1500-$2000 transmission rebuilds. This is a $750 answer. When these kits are gone that will likely be my last run...

    For my 3/S brethren... Cheers!

If these are all Getrag parts, why do I see the Chinese knock-off brass syncro rings?

I am very familiar with the trade laws of the United States of America. I clearly stated the countries of origin for the parts in this kit. My synchro packs say Toyota on them. The bearing kit is NPN Koyo and MHI Japan. The seals are Getrag Germany and USA. No China parts here...

you are strongly implying the syncros are oem, when they are not.

I don't really care if they're made in Latveria. They're junk. I've rebuilt over 50 of these things. The few I used the brass syncros on, had shift problems. Those are NOT OEM Getrag parts.

The Toyota Supra parts you're using for the 1-2 assembly ARE Getrag parts. The all-brass ones for the other gears are not.

Jack's Transmissions has done more of these than I have, and they've even put together a page explaining the issue.

Synchro Types ? Jacks Transmissions LLC

There are currently 2 synchro pack mfr's for the W5/6MG1 3S Getrag gearboxes. Transtar (USA) and Toyota (Japan). MHI Japan no longer builds. Toyota builds for them. I researched this extensively and PAID import duty from the MFR for my parts. If you dont like it go source your own kits from Jacks or Cobra Transmission and pay $1000.

So which is it? Getrag or "3rd party" ? Intentionally or not, you're misrepresenting what you're selling.

Toyota doesn't make Getrag syncros at all. They never did. Nor did Mitsu. They repackaged and sold OE GETRAG parts. Transtar makes a generic knock-off which doesn't work as well as OEM parts. I used to run Northbend Technologies, doing rebuilds for Supercar Engineering, and later as a solo venture. Jacks still does it. NONE of us like the knock-off syncros.

I don't have a business any more so I couldn't care less what you sell. Just be honest about it. Don't get all pissed off at me because your 'extensive research' falls apart under 30 seconds of scrutiny.

I would have to agree with Jeff V. and some of the others. I rebuild my own Tranny's and found the all Brass to be Questionable. But for who makes the ones you have for sell I don't know or can. But if Jack's or Cobra's, Supercar can sell the same kit with the OEM Steel with the linings for a 1000.00. Buy those for the all Brass ones will Cost U in the End. Never Go Cheap on Tranny Parts.
