I'm an AT0. See, 67 of us passed the test but zero were advanced.


This is now the third or fourth cycle it's been this way. Honestly I can't fucking remember.

I really want to type out some long, drawn out logical, textual word-fucking that would be more cathartic than anything. Instead, I just realized there's not point. It won't change anything.


Now I get to tell the wife we're not buying a house.

I know your disappointment well. Although the stakes for me were not as high (no kids, recently married).

I got passed up for promotion once before, it's a terrible feeling. The expectation, the hoping, the wishing, the dreams - shattered in an instant.

Things will get better.

Was that E5 to E6? Or 6 to 7? Are those for the entire Navy or just your fleet(or whatever a division/corps equivalent would be for you guys)? Why would they even have you take the exam if they have no intention of promoting any of you - or is it required yearly regardless? Sorry for the all the questions I'm just curious. Promotion systems in the Navy and Air Force blow my mind, especially with how easy it is to get promoted in the Army. And sorry all you guys got the shaft.

meh...army had its own issues, i sat on the list for nine months waiting for the points to drop and make the cut. They eventually DID drop the points, but I had already ETS'd and was living in Colorado as a civilian by then

Advancement from E5 to E6 for the FTS Navy. We're a subsection that for accounting purposes puts us in the Reserve Fleet but we're Active Duty. Difference with us and RegNav is that we constantly have to work with true Reservists.
