what's not? the ref getting killed? because I'm pretty sure the guy wasn't trying to kill the ref otherwise he would opted for something more dangerous than his fist.

If someone gets killed playing Russian roulette, is that an accident? I guess this comes down to matter of opinion.
Those, who stand for nothing, will fall for anything.
On the Internet you can be anything you want. It's strange that so many people choose to be stupid.

I know if I was to hit someone, it would never occur to me that I may kill them. Clearly its a possibility, just extremely rare.

i am definitely aware of it. it doesnt take that much to kill someone honestly. crush their trachea, sternum, temple, or break their arm and their marrow comes out and kills them, or any of the other random ways. its why i dont like to get in fights.

however, i very highly doubt he meant to kill the guy. i mean, it is extremely rare to have someone get that upset over a foul, much less desire to kill the person over it. like corey said, its a lose lose situation.

with all that being said, i dont think he should get off easy or light by any means. i dont, however, think that his intent was to kill, and that treating him like he is a full blown assasinator is fair either. idk wtf i would do if i were in the judges shoes.

But you can't expect that hitting someone would mean a pleasant experience for the person that you are hitting. The purpose of hitting is rather obvious, to deal some (small or great) physical damage. Without knowing person's physical condition, that could lead to death.

he's running around on a field of an atheltic contest with contact. pretty sure that's a clue he does not have such a fragile condition that he is aware of. you'd have to prove intent to kill which I don't see a single shread of evidence suggesting that.

Manslaughter is fair, possibility of voluntary manslaughter... he may not have intended to kill him, but he did intend to inflict bodily harm.

I guess it will depend if the kid has a history of violence.

I am in no way sticking up for this kid, I just feel the incident should be treated in a fair way. Murder, to me, is going way to far. I am sure the refs family and friends would understandably feel differently.
