On second thought if the balance issue was towards the center it would wear those first, then transfer to the rest. So they were even all the way around ? What was the oil clearence to start and did you happend to check when they were worn to see how much it wore ?

Good to here you are sticking around!

I'm sure I don't have a 1/4 what you do in mine, but I think I am at the point of no return already. Lifer!

If you want another set of hands to help out, you know how to find me. I'd be more than glad to volunteer some time and get to know one of the more famous 3S guys.

Glad to hear that you're keeping the car Trev. Sorry to hear about the crank problems though. I'm sure you'll get it figured out though.

And as for Matt's crank, I don't think Trevor is looking at buying Matt's because he stated that the one he was looking at was 4340 chromoly. The stroker that was in Matt's drag car IIRC is made of EN30B. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though.

I built the engine in the cleanest environment possible and BAM whada ya know...I checked the bearings and despite my best efforts, 1 piece of debri managed to go around the bearings of rod 3. I am throwing another set of Bi metal bearings in it since they can handle any possible debri better than tri metal bearings. All the other bearings looked great which was a nice sight. I don't know what bearings you are using or how the environment is that you are cleaning / assembling the parts in but that's all it takes is a small fragment. Take your oil pan to the machine shop and have it cleaned along with your valve covers.

I also noticed that washout is happening within or before 500miles. I also tore apart both my filters and they where full of shit but as I said, the rest of the bearings looked great. This build was also the first time I used a twin filter setup.
    Wonderful information...Thanks very much!

There's got to be a point where you've spent and poured too much into something, that you really can't part with it. I'm guessing you've gone past that mark several times over. (and then some) It still amazes me that after all the work you have done with your Stealth, that you come back to the forums and ask us what we think.
