I literally peed my pants when you said you were going to sell her! I felt like a creeper watching your build video haha.

Glad to see your keeping her and I hope all goes well! Can't wait to see what kind of power it puts down after yet another tear down.

Wonder if the crank is bent but balanced.

The crank was brand new from the dealer and unlike most of them I've recieved this one arrived in a box that wasn't in horrible shape. I asked the shop to check it for straigtness even though it was new. I didn't verify that they had done it when I picked up the balanced, ready to install assembly. Maybe that was one of the few times when it would have been OK to insult them by asking. I think they would have told me it was checked & good regardless since they had already said it was ready for pickup.

If it was bent do you guys think it would have been good for 1000+ miles of normal driving? I had no issues until I put my boot in it, revved it over 4500, and started making 550+ Tq.

I am noticing that the smallest of debri particles are to blame for simple bearing washout with 6G series engines. I used a twin Purolator oil filter setup with this last build that I did but before anything, I literally made a make shift clean room to assemble the engine in. I built the engine in the cleanest environment possible and BAM whada ya know...I checked the bearings and despite my best efforts, 1 piece of debri managed to go around the bearings of rod 3. I am throwing another set of Bi metal bearings in it since they can handle any possible debri better than tri metal bearings. All the other bearings looked great which was a nice sight. I don't know what bearings you are using or how the environment is that you are cleaning / assembling the parts in but that's all it takes is a small fragment. Take your oil pan to the machine shop and have it cleaned along with your valve covers.

I also noticed that washout is happening within or before 500miles. I also tore apart both my filters and they where full of shit but as I said, the rest of the bearings looked great. This build was also the first time I used a twin filter setup.

I dont really know man. You are far more knowledgeable with these than I. It was just a thought. Seems being out of balance should of worn the outer mains as well. But Ray has seen more bottom ends than a doctor so he's probably right about the balance.
