Good battery, but no power at all

So I just went to start my car up for the first time in 5 years or so. The gas was bad, so I took out the fuel pump and siphoned out as much as I could, put about 5 gallons of fresh stuff in and went to start it. Brand new battery as well. After turning the key 20 times or so to get the good gas through the lines, it finally started up with a roar. After about 3 seconds, it just completely died and now the car has zero power. No dash lights or fuel pump priming or anything. Battery is fine and connected. Any thoughts before I start tearing into the wiring?

    BTW, hai guise.

I'd start with cleaning battery cables and checking and cleaning your grounds.

Original member from like 1999 right? Welcome back.

I would begin with checking fuses under the hood, which I imagine you already did.

Thanks. I started browsing 3SI in '01. Yep, checked fuses immediately. Battery terminals and cables are clean.

Wiring corrodes from the inside; especially stranded copper wire. Large main power and/or ground cables can appear fine but have corroded internally to the point they are useless. Personal experience. More than once. Just my 1.5 cents worth.

Very possible on this car. Ugh. Thanks for the input.
