    Yeah, that is troubling. Just had my DR TD05 headers coated last summer. So hopefully they hold up. Have you contacted Swaintech yet to see if they will stand behind there work? As expensive as it is, that coating should hold up for a very long time.

    Appreciate the update, was going to get a set coated by them (and probably then wrapped as well.) Don't they warranty the work?

    I have heard before on other platforms that ceramic coating exhaust before it's been run can lead to all sorts of bubbling and cracking issues in the coating. Personally I find that hard to believe, but could be a possibility.

    I haven't talked to them yet, plan on giving them a call when I get a chance. The rear manifold with the flaking had 60k miles on it before it got coated.

    Aren't the insides coated too? I'd imagine if the outside is flaking the inside would be flaking as well, if not worse than the outside. I'm sure that can't be good running through the turbos and engine and then getting stuck in the cat (if you have one still).

    IIRC Swaintech doesn't/ will not coat the inside of thrbocharged manifolds/etc.

    I didn't think so either but I just read a thread saying otherwise.

    See here --> http://www.3sgto.org/3000gt-stealth-...r-coating.html

    I had my gctech headers coated by swaintech. If you tell them they are Turbo manifolds they will not coat the insides. If you fail to tell them that however they will default to their typical "we'll coat as much of the inside as is realisitically feasible based on runner length, shape, and complexity" citing that in many cases runner shape and length make ensuring an even and complete coat on the inside impossible.

    Mine have not been heat cycled yet so I can't speak to the longevity of the coating on our application.

    Interesting, this is the first time I've seen white lightning do this. Any idea what your EGT's are? I didn't see any flaking or bubbling on a coated GT3RSR exhaust system and the entire exhaust glows bright red, even the exhaust tips.

    I would be curious about EGTs as well. Was there any contamination of the surface before the parts were installed on the car? Maybe some kind of fluid or something that might've allowed heat to concentrate in that area and damage the coating?
