this. and i can't argue with that vote...except for the 1 guy who voted brady instead. brady did not have the same exemplary year this year that manning did. and his "justification" for not voting manning (that brady had very little to work with) doesn't hold water. that was like EVERY DAMN YEAR manning played for the colts.

comparing what brady had to work with re: receiving core this year to what peyton worked with when he was on the colts (over any year) is like comparing apples to oranges. two entirely different things. especially since he won league mvp in 03, 04, 08, 09 and this year (13)
note: i am not commenting on that one person who voted, just making an observation on your example comparison.
the comparison with regards to manning's previous years on the colts also has no impact on this years league MVP vote.

tl; dr he's a first world anarchist and probably voted that way just to piss you off =b

Considering that Denver's defense showed just how abysmal they really are,I'd say Peyton is more important to his team. That's his offense now, and was shown yesterday, if he isn't lighting teams up, they can't even compete. That said, Peyton also got 100 more yards than the Seahawks D allowed on average this year (roughly 50% more..) Even the INTs weren't totally his fault as Thomas gave up on the route on the first one, and looked like on the second one his arm got hit as he released it. The defense never showed up, Denver abandoned the run game early after getting behind (which Fox has a tendency of doing..See Zona v Carolina 08, Carolina V Seattle 06), and the skill players on Denver turned the ball over and killed good looking drives.

Here's the stranger thing: Before Manning joined the team, Tebow was QB and the knock then was that they had a ferocious defense and no offense. In less than 2 years with a superstar QB in place of Tebow (and running the ball) the defense was awful (under a "defensive minded coach" like John Fox) and the offense was monsterous. How has nobody else noticed that with a guy who was hired because he was a run the ball and play great defense kind of coach that the Broncos don't run the ball particularly effectively, and trot out mostly the same defensive people that they had 2 years ago but is suddenly incapable of playing defense?

Even accounting for the offense scoring faster, I think something is wrong with that picture. Just another reason though why I'm glad Fox is gone from Carolina. I enjoyed the ballsy moves of Riverboat Ron this season, but don't think Carolina wins a Super Bowl with him (or Cam for that matter.)

Seahawks' Richard Sherman says they 'cracked Peyton Manning's hand signal code in Super Bowl' | Mail Online

how much longer before everyone is using helmet speaker/mic (with encryption algorithms to prevent eavesdropping) and hand-signals are gone entirely?

Can't do that. It is against the rules. Only the QB can have a speaker/mic, and one player on defense can have one.

yeah they cracked his code alright. it's called a pass rush. 10 to 1 when Peyton was getting creamed what he was going to do with the ball went out the window.

Rules change. Unless you've missed pretty much every season for the past 10 years...

I think it's going to happen in the future. Play-calling is such a big part of hand-egg that I just don't see any alternative.
