As some of the members here know last month I went thru some lemon shen's involving a sand and ocean filled Daytona Beach 1G. Well, it just so happens that the guy upstairs gave fate a little push and gifted me another chance.
I visited a local member here in Colorado to purchase some parts off a damaged vehicle. I was going to pull a fuel rail system and buy back an EMS I installed awhile back for $1000. It just so happens when I was wrenching on the vehicle the owners dad offered the car up to me for a couple hundred bucks more because he was pissed his son wadded it up. So here it is. The interior is cherry, no torn seats. No body rust, straight body with the exception of the front bumper and passenger fenders. The exhaust was pulled and the turbos were pulled by his son and sold. I purchased the vehicle As Is. After a little poking around here's what I found...
This car really is nice... just dirty (and this one REALLY is just dirty). I pulled the valve covers and camera'd the cylinders and discovered it has upgraded heads, TI valve springs, Unorthodox Cam gears and Delta 272 cams. Digged into it a little more and... Gene's SMIC's, Skyline Fuel System, Fuel pump hotwire, AEM EMS, FNOR1c Rims with new rubber, Eibach lowering springs with working new ECS, CX racing intercooler hardpipe kit, AEM true boost and wideband, Tial Q BOV, Reinforced drivetrain, Seattle short throw, working active aero and exhaust motors, working antenna, ZERO rust, all guages, windows and switches work.
From a fender bender it appears it needs a new radiator lower support, front bumper, headlights lights, passenger signals, passenger fender, hood, and a big F'n turbo kit (all of which I have) so here we go. I'm going to pull the engine and refresh it, 60K/new oil pump, bolt on a T3 turbo kit, degree the cams, and retard the cam gears, and put this thing back together.
Have a looksee...
His dad even threw in a brand new set of B&G lowering springs and a 99 bumper. He said "Take it! Get it out of my garage. I'm sick of looking at it. I know what you do to these cars... do it justice and give it the appreciation it deserved."
I thanked him and so here we go. Time for a ressurection. I might just need a hand with some spare parts guys. Once I get it home and crack it open and have a looksee I'll know better.
I'd like to thank CBR for giving me an opportunity to see what I didn't want in Florida. Odly enough the karma police showed up and gifted me this right here at home.
