An N/A ecu will work in a turbo car...but I would not drive it as it will run lean. If you have a fuel controller to compensate it can work. Also the oem boost gauge, active exhaust, and a datalogger will not work or will not work properly.

edit: I had to use an N/A ecu to drive my car home roughly 50+/- miles when my old turbo ecu went bad.

you'll need an SAFC & a tune. or you can just go to autozone & spend practically the same amount of money on a rebuilt ECU & just call it a day.

seriously, no wonder so many 3/s's are junked with exploded engines.

I tried to get mine rebuilt at Autozone and they couldn't do it. The only option was an ecu rebuilder like Avpro.

When did you get one? I tried to get a 93 Fed Spec and the vendor was out of stock and they where not excepting cores for rebuild either. That was less than a month ago.

I dealt with NAPA and they needed to rebuild mine. I didnt want mine rebuilt I just wanted to buy one. Now I am going to modify my harness to run a 94 ECU. I plan to make a write up on it if it works out. My ECU seems to be the hardest to come by.

91 VR4, Look at the pin outs for a manual and you will find many simularities exist between a 91 and 94 ECU. The three plugs for the 91 fit into 3 of the 4 on the 94. And are wired properly for the most part. That 4th plug on the 94 is mostly for autos and NAs. I know of one pin that is ignition power that needs to go to that fourth plug. I will look at it more closly before installing.

You can find 9966 ecu's all day long. It's the 0663's and the 8205's that are damn near impossible to find. Those 2 where only made for 1 year.
