woa guys, just posting the conversion table for shits and grins. Yes it makes me feel warm and fuzzy, yes my air density that night was a whopping 8000ft. Do I care that matt ran 8's sure. But, I am not trying to prove anything about anyone or anyones setup. Just saying at higher elevations my car is slower than the sea level guys.

3500ft is still ALOT lower than 5000ft.

There is a difference... Just not as big for turbo cars. The NHRA corrections are for N/A cars... look at the classes they correct. There are no forced induction cars there. Most real correction calculators have different factors for N/A and forced induction. But they include blowers in the same category as turbos. You don't just turn up the boost on a roots blower, you have to swap pulleys to change how much air it pumps.

An air density variation that would knock a second off an N/A motors time, would likely be less than half that on any forced induction motor, and maybe even less on a well set up turbo car.

Matt said he used to gain a couple tenths going to sea level with his old 11 second cars. That is pretty consistent with the more accurate calculators, and would likely equate to 4-5 tenths if he went from sea level to Mile High...

The OP has previously stated that the altitude density factor for his 12.00 runs wasupwards of 8000ft. If that's so, it's very believable that he would run a mid 11 with sea level air... An N/A under the same circumstances would drop to 10.70's easily.
Cool. I dont waste time over there so I had no idea. The graph I posted is off a 2G Turbo DSM. The uncorrected power loss going to and from elevation is right at 25%. These are real world uncorrected results. Quite often we see skewed results which paint an unrealistic picture of results. If Matt believes he can take a 550 uncorrected whp car at sea level and run 10.9's and then drive to Denver and net a whopping 400 uncorrected whp and he's only going to lose a half second then so be it. I've results which dispute the outcome and they're from a legitimate source. The test was conducted by English racing and NABR Generals. If you visit the DSM community and research the 8 second list youll find they commission the fastest Mitsubishi's in the world.

The colum on the right in Red... My Rally North America co-driver is the general of NABR. I believe everything he tells me about going fast.

you don't waste time over there because you're banned under several usernames.

The only time altitude is going to kill a turbo cars performance is when the turbos are absolutely maxed out at sea level. The majority of us don't run our turbos at 100% duty cycle, so there is some extra airflow to compensate for the altitude changes.

Forrest that is kind uncalled for.have u ever driven your car at 5-6000 ft? Jer is showing proven statistics. If u haven't driven up here then stop chiming in. This wasn't to be a bash session on anyone. I enjoy racing and I know others do too. This was to just give some insight on elevation factors. Minga

You two need to get married you flop back and forth so much. I can't keep straight if you hate him or not on a given day.

I just find offense to someone acting like they are too good for a site they were banned from for posting bullshit on.
