I actually used some npt fittings from home depot. I think they were 3/4. I used a straight male barb and a 90 degree female barb. I drilled and tapped the plate for the straight male barb and put the 90 degree female on top. I'm not exactly proud of this, but it works. Just an idea if your desperate. The an stuff will probably work better.
