Oh! I didn't read that part yet! That explains it.

    Hmm.

Good sarcasm doesn't usually get by me.

    Well-played, I guess...

I must admit, being a sibling to someone who was killed in a senseless act of violence - it felt cathartic to experience the ensuing arrest vicariously through the eyes of a Bostonian.

Part of me wonders if these two kids are actually guilty. It's all too perfect.. A terrible bombing happens and the next thing you know know they are getting in gunfights with "suspected" bombers on the street. Hard to say who is the guilty parties with all that non sense... I just don't see all the evidence. All I know is the media has painted these two individuals like monsters and we don't even know if they are guilty. The government needs to conduct themselves in a professional manner and frankly playing gunslinger in the street and gunning down 1 of the 2 suspects people isn't the way. They painted a giant target on their head for people to zero in on and help provide comfort in some weird way. Cheering in the streets after the one individual was gunned down is rather barbaric if you ask me. In the end it's still innocent until proven guilty not guilty until proven innocent. Let's face it; whether they did it or not... This kid doesn't have a hope in hell. U S A.

This is a tragic time and my heart goes out to the families of the two dead and the many seriously injured, but what saddens me even more is that if this had happened back in the 1970's Boston would not have been the second largest contributor to noraid with collection buckets in many bars collecting money for the IRA terrorists to make nail bombs that killed many in the mainland UK & northern Ireland. Simply chucking some change into a bucket would not have seemed so romantic as the sheer terror of what these bombs can do would have been witnessed first hand. Jeff

I actually flashed on that before we knew anything at all - I figured hey, it's Boston, could even be IRA-related...

Might want to make clear what you think regarding events in Boston, Jeff.

These guys were nobody's freedom fighters.

RE-READ what i posted above. THAT'S how we know who is right. one of the 2 involved parties is following rule-of-law. if neither is following rule-of-law, then neither is correct.

and just in case you toss out the "both were following rules" argument, i'll say this. which side is following rules with international precedent and sanction?

    -----

THAT'S why we have to be different. that's why we have to abide by due-process & not deal out mob-justice to parties, no matter how plainly guilty they are.

where i come from, there's a VERY clear line as to whether a person is a terrorist or a freedom fighter--and it doesn't matter which side of the fence you're on. you're either fighting against tyranny or to support tyranny. it's that simple.
