ECU is dead, what are my options.

Like the title states, after 5 months of fighting with my car we have figured out that my ECU is dead, I replaced the CAPS on it last Spring and it solved the problem for a couple months, but the problems arose again. It is not telling the 3-6 coil pack to fire.

So I need to replace the ECU, now I am waaaaaaaaaay outta the loop on the platform, I have been told I can shell out money for a used one and have the same old problems these ECU's have always had or go with a flashable ECU and other alternatives.

So what alternatives are out there?

Car is mildly modded. (gutted cats, precats, boost turned up, stock turbos and injectors) I don't plan on doing any crazy modding anytime in the real near future just looking for the best bang for my buck.

the flashable setup is the best bang for your buck for these cars period. however, in your situation, you may be good to just try and get another known good ecu. past that, there are aftermarket ecu's, but if you are going to try and go that route, i will recommend a flashable setup

get a stock replacement. if yours is a 93, there should be plenty of 9966's floating around for use.

Depends on your money situation, I may be able to repair your ECU for you, I offer my service for free to forum members you just pay shipping both ways.

However if it isnt money definitely go with the flashable ECU.

I also have a perfect JDM 1st Gen ECU I could sell you for $350 if you are interested.

If you're going to replace it then you might aswell go flashable.

if not just do a search on ebay. tons and tons of cheap ecu's there.

If you replace it with stock. Make sure the caps get replaced while its still good. The caps dieing is probably what killed it.

Corey I may send you my bad one.

Shoot me your info, it may be worth sending out to give it a shot, we didn't notice anything fried on it or anything, caps were already replaced.
