anodized purple would look sick. Or black chrome like inperfect was saying. I might try to do black chrome to my valve covers after I finish polishing them. Was thinking VHT nightshades might work since it's translucent...but not sure how it would do on metal

Does anyone have any pics of anodized valve covers compared to powdercoated valve covers? Which is cheaper?

damn, that's another great idea; nightshades. a single coat, wet-sanded & with 2-3 coats of clear. that would look AWESOME on a polished plenum.

Yup I sprayed a bit on my halfway polished rear valve cover and it gave it the black chrome look...kinda, I didn't clean it before I sprayed so it fisheyed everywhere and didn't wanna stick but I think once it's polished and cleaned up properly it would work. Just got done nightshading my center tail light and corner lights, sprayed some flat clear on, and OMG sexy! Looks just like the 99 garnish now and I saved $120. Just needs a mitsu emblem on there now and I'll be happy

I'd like to see some before I do it as well! I am also thinking of trying some of the MetalCast anodized look paint on them, I did my fuel rails in them and they look very good. I'll give them a shot and post up some pictures soon, if they're a bust I'll just strip them again and re-polish. I think anodizing is quite expensive on larger pieces, I'll look it up though.

really? didn't seem like SSM was having too much difficulty getting their FMIC cores anodized.

I found a place!! I got it in there at the very last minute too, it cost me $150 to get the front done. It's being done in sulphuric acid and a dark shade of purple with a clear protection coat on it! I should have it back by tomorrow afternoon and will post some pictures as soon as I can I didn't get a hard anodize done to it, simply because it's very expensive. All I got done was "deyeing" the aluminum.

... This may be a new mod addiction for me
