I don't quite understand how you can expect a perfect bodied car for $2800

I cannot speak to the condition of the engine prior to my being there. Frankly, I really wanted it to work out but it didn't. There were a number of red flags and alarms going off in my mind when I first looked at this vehicle. However, I felt compelled to try and make it work.

I will say openly and honestly when I first saw the car clearly it was miss advertised. It wasn't the type of car I would have purchased. The rear spoiler was damaged, the rear bumper has chips and scratches all the way to the core. Every fender is dented, there's ripples in the rear fenders, the front bumper has scratches, the top clear on the roof has scratches all the way through to the back, window tint is peeling and etc.

My instinct told me to walk away, but I didn't. I made the decision to stick with it and wrench on it. I told Bill straight up that's not the type of car I would have bought and if I would have seen it in person I would walk away immediately but I was in Florida miles and miles away from my house and I would reevaluate my position depending on whether or not vehicle ran.

I bolted everything on to the point where I could get the oil pressure up to prime the engine and turbo chargers. I verified the base timing and had Bill fire the engine and all I heard was metal to metal. It was really late last night once I got the results... I was not in a position to jerk around the car any longer after I heard that. We can go with the Skip Timing Theory. I did not 100 percent confirm the timing after I heard engine noise. It was dark and late, I was tired, disappointed, and didn't care anymore. I knew the fun was over over and I was going to have to cut my losses.

where are these dents and ripples? te only thing you kept complaining about was the salt everywhere. lets be honest here. you told me after the first night of working on it that if you saw this car locally that you would walk away from it. right then and there I told you to stop and walk if you didnt want it. you chose to keep working on it. so the car must have done something for you.

or could it be that you are just real pissed off and need to attack my rep by going with the "miss advertised" theory.
btw the cracked active aero was in the origional ad. I still have it from the ebay ad

first and foremost, you all are going to get nowhere with this back and forth. whats done is done. cbr, your name is not ruined on here so there is no reason in being so worried about that.

jeremy, i cannot believe you didnt check timing first and foremost. the VERY FIRST thing you should have done is check the timing. and after that, make sure the oil pan isnt dented. THEN (and only then) you should have done the turbos swap and whatnot. you have no one to blame but yourself man, im sorry. i legitimately feel bad that you were out that much time and money, but you should only be pissed at yourself at this point. even if cbr was super smart with these cars and said he did it himself, you still should have checked it.

now as for the condition of the body and everything, you may have an argument there. idk what all was said.

2800+ plane ticket + shipping tools + hilton hotel + gas money and 3-4 nights hotel for the trip home. You planned to make money on this deal? I don't see a motive...

Shoulda checked timing for sure....
