I've always been a MoPar guy & I don't recall exactly where I first saw one in-person, but I do remember seeing them in magazines back in the early '90s & always knew I wanted one once I got older...Fast forward to '07 when I was in college & a buddy & I were on our way back from the races in Arlington Park, IL (horse betting & drinking).

I was driving back my buddy's '00 323IS 'cause he had too many beers & I noticed a green Stealth quickly catching up with us. We got to a light & I told my friend how sweet Stealths were & that this one seemed to have had a fair amount of upgrades done to it...Of course the dude was trying to get a race out of us, but I told him I wouldn't beat on his Beemer.

The light turned green & the Stealth was GONE!! I told him how I was going to pick one up soon, he didn't believe me, & the next semester I found mine in the south & had it at school shortly after.

I really should have held out for a mint, unmolested '93 as I had originally planned, but another couple grand & this one should be solid!

I suppose it depends on the kind of attention you're looking for (or not looking for). I still get a lot of lookers and people asking what kind of car it is, and I still get a lot of cops tailing me and pulling me over for whatever small reason they can think of. Then sometimes you get the mix of the two; cops pulling you over only to end up BSing about cars and how "they always wanted to own one of these."

Certainly can't complain about the attention factor.

That's what happened when I was on my way back up north with my '73 Challenger!! :P. the dude was on-duty, did a U-turn to pull into the gas station, got out & proceeded to talk about the car & how cool these old MoPars are in general: all the while his partner had to just chill in the car.

I cant say ive run across to many people that dislike these cars.. most people who come up and talk to me have never seen one in person and are surprised with the level of performance they bring even 20 years later
.. since i have owned the VR4 it gets ALOT of attention and looks everywhere it goes.. im not looking for that kind of attention but i do love it!

I was 10 in '91. I remember being on the school bus and a person in my neighborhood had a dark midnight blue '91 R/T TT. I would just sit there and drool at the car.

Fast forward 7 years later and I'm working at Sears, two coworkers have 3S's. Gene (here on the boards) and his 1st gen Stealth ES and Adam (not on the boards) with his 1st gen VR-4. Until I met them both I never thought a person my age could have a car like that.

So I started my search and at 18 I picked up my '95 DOHC base 3000GT.

    I owned my '95 from 1999 until I sold her in 2011.

Picked up my '99 VR-4 in 2010 and am planning on never giving her up.

Have always been into all vehicles with an engine. I knew what they were, obviously. My friend got a red 91 Stealth ES, in 1990. 1st one to hit the streets in our area. Then 2 years later his brother got a green 3000, wasn't an SL but had every option except leather. So, I had the pleasure of driving 2 of them when they were brand new. The windshield fogged, for no reason, even when they were brand new. That was the most annoying thing about the cars. Other than that, we had immeasurable fun in those cars in high school. Talk about turning heads!

I was looking for a 2G GSX or GST in 2002 and found my VR4 in the paper. I'd honestly never seen or noticed them prior to that, LOL.

In the fall of '94 I received a $10K retention bonus from my company and I had wanted a sports car for a while. The brand new 2nd gens really caught my eye but were way out of my price range at the time. They had a stealth TT on the lot and when I test drove it I was amazed with the power since my DD was a POS 81 Corolla with about 80 hp. After that I tested a couple of 91 VR4s that I found through the newspaper ads and ended up getting a pearl white 91 VR4 with only 17K on it.

I can count the number of compliments I've gotten from strangers on one hand. Must be my location.
