Being against is not the same as not supporting it. Christians, IMO, should not support any sinning, but yet they continue to sin. Fact of the matter is, a sin is a sin, no one sin is greater than another. Just about everyone sins every day... so we should all worry about the plank in our own eyes, before we worry about the speck in someone else's.

Hey now, domestic violence and infidelity don't count when you're closing your eyes while doing it.

Well, while not absolute. Man and Woman get married to start a family, because of tradition/church, etc.

What is the argument for gay marriage over civil unions? The financial and other benefits associated?

Btw, I'm not against gay marriage. Personally I think the solution is to call all unions "civil unions". The Federal Govt should recognize all civil unions that the states recognize. "Marriage" should be left to the church. In the eyes of the law, "marriage" and "civil union" should be treated as equal. Let the states decide who they give civil unions to, and let the Federal Govt recognize the states choice.

much easier said than done, and much more difficult than just calling it all "marriage" so it works--rather than trying to fix the system to "preserve" the 'meaning" behind one lowly word.

Why must it be called marriage, and not civil union? If all things being equal, what do you gain by getting the title marriage, other than a stab at the churches. The left feels like they defeated the churches/right on the issue, the right/churches feel they have been spit on... and you gain nothing from it.

It's not difficult in the slightest. Define a civil union; demonstrate the practices to obtain status. End.

That and the part where he asks "You ever wonder how good gay sex must be if people are willing to go to hell for it?"

I'm not sure who is worst, BS or Westboro....
Those, who stand for nothing, will fall for anything.
On the Internet you can be anything you want. It's strange that so many people choose to be stupid.
