I will be attempting to get crafty with a glovebox mount that will secure a laptop when opened. An add in shelf that is removable. Do not like using the seat...

Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!

consider using a tablet & something like an otterbox + a body mount (eg: ipad with thigh-mount straps--like some pilots use). this would make it super easy to secure the device & also to remove it easily.

Why would I want something that didn't fit my phone? lol

Thank you for the link IPD the CF door is similar to what i had originally thought of 9which would be relatively simple in comparison to a redesign.
As far as a I phone, I have one but would at most incorporate a usb adaper so that a charger cord can be plugged in and it will be musch more useful. The size of the ashtray holder(without the ashtray inserted) is already the perfect size for an Iphone for thouse of you that dail drive your car. I painted mine satin black and now it fits my wallet/ card cash holder and my i phone perfectly. The little light is annoying though.

I was thinking of incorporating a cupholder or possibly another small storage area with a cover that has simply been cut out. This way I could remount my meth and boost control keeping them hidden, while also enabling me to redesign the center hatch and lid area. I think the time has come to start making some sketches. I need some cool car interiors. I will also be looking to see if this can shave some weight while customizing

Ya I didn't really mean an "dock", just something that looks better than a hole. I used to put my mp3 player/phone in there all the time but it looks stupid. Now I wedge it in the passenger seat but when I have a passenger that obviously makes it a pain. If there was a way to route the audio output in a clean fashion that would be nice opposed to having the headphone jack sticking up in the way of the shifter.

Have you ever thought about doing the whole steering wheel in CF?

Steering wheel- I have thought about it, but I don't like the dangers since I will be out on the street. Even with a racing harness in my car I don't like that idea. If someone hits you and your head hits the steering area or the wheel brakes, I would assume it would end badly. The most I would think of doing would be a top coat wrapped one and even that would be tricky. You dont want 8000 tiny shards of carbon fiber flying at your face. In my car I think I will be waiting for Josh Mitoska to one day offer a custom OEM rewrap.

You made some very important safety points that I had not considered. Ya, I should have qualified that to mean just wrapping it in CF and not the full structure. Maybe Josh will offer one OEM wrap someday soon, thanks.
