    Harnesses and turbos

Wasn't sure where to post this. I've been researching and can't find a clear answer.

Is there an illegal amount of boost that your car isn't suppose to have?

Are harnesses illegal in Florida as apposed to seatbelts?

    Thanks!

Harnesses may or may not be illegal, but I would never use a harness without a cage.

Ive never heard of either... even if such laws existed. I doubt they would exist in FL

No, there is no state or federal law limiting the amount of boost you can run on a vehicle. Even in Kommufornia.

There is laws regarding harnesses, which vary.

Modifying the factory emissions system in any way is illegal.... 90% of the cars on every enthusiast forum on the internet are breaking the law.

    Problem...?

    Turn it up....

Modifying it is illegal.......but it doesn't say there's a boost limit. He didn't ask if it was illegal to mod his car, he asked if there was a boost limit.

Semantics... If there's a law against changing something, a law limiting how much would be redundant.

He asked if there was a law limiting boost. The answer: Anything over stock...

not semantics, well it is, but, since the wastegates are not part of a emissions control subsystem, you can yank that line and run all the boost you want.........BUT, adding fuel to match requires tampering with emissions control systems.

He asked "illegal amount of boost". not "illegal to change the boost".

The way the law is written in PA you technically cannot change ANYTHING from teh factory. That means, when your tires wear out, it is technically against the law to change them.
