I did a twin turbo conversion on my 95 base a couple years ago using a 92 ecu. I used my stock base model wiring harness because everything plugs right in. However, the radiator fans on 2nd gens+ are controlled by the ecu and on the 1st gen, the 2 thermoswitches in radiator control the fans. I just hotwired both fans to stay on all the time but now I am trying to correct all my dumb mistakes from when I was less informed.
I would like to install the 1st gen thermoswitches to operate my fans correctly. My radiator has provisions for them so thats not an issue. However, the wiring is what I am unsure of. Is there a separate harness that plugs into the fan and the switches on the 1st gens? Are the fans different from 1st to 2nd gen? Or would I have to do some custom wiring?
Anyone have any close up pics of the 1st gen ratiator+fans with wiring installed?
I would like to avoid aftermarket fan controllers if possible.
